The BioBricks Foundation (BBF) is a public-benefit organization advancing synthetic biology to benefit all people and the planet. We have an impact because of people like you — you are one of a community of thousands of scientists, educators, policymakers, students, and citizens who believe fundamental biotechnology belongs to all of us. Thank you for your past support of the BBF. We’re calling on you now to help the BBF reach important goals in 2012.
The BBF has big plans for 2012. We have started organizing the BioBricks Foundation SB6.0 Conference taking place at Imperial College in London in 2013. We are writing and will distribute free user manuals for the BioBrick™ Public Agreement, the Technical RFC Process, and OpenWetWare, three powerful tools the BBF created to make your work as a scientist easier. We are also expanding our Education Program through a partnership with The BioBuilder Educational Foundation to reach thousands of middle and high-school students who will be the future leaders of the field. And we are preparing to launch the Stanford BIOFAB, a collaborative research effort the BBF helped bring together and whose products will be contributed to the public domain.
Our annual goal for individual gifts is $100,000. So far this year, we have raised $37,000, leaving $63,000 to go. For those of you who contributed to our fall 2011 campaign, thank you so much! If you have not yet contributed, there is still time to do so. Can you help take us over the $50,000 mark by June 15?
Your gift of $10, $20, $50, $100, or any amount will have a big impact. The time to give is now.
If you think a strong synbio community makes the world a better place, please contribute to the BioBricks Foundation today! We’ll share updates in the coming weeks. Thank you so much for your support!
